Scientific Program Ready Now!

We are pleased to announce that the International Scientific Committee completed the evaluation of 90 scientific/technical communications (oral and poster presentations) submitted to 8th ITGS by attendees from 18 Countries.
Basing on the communication contents, the following sessions have been defined: Overviews, Economics & Statistics, Biology and Physiology of Production, Genetic Resources & Variety Novelties, Innovation in Plant Protection, Updating in Post Harvest Applications, Improved Cultural Techniques.
“Oeno-one” (open access peer-reviewed journal) has shown interest in publishing a special issue reserved to the best papers presented at the 8th ITGS.

Oral presentations will be scheduled as follows.
Monday, 2 October - University of Foggia
Morning Sessions - Overview, Economics and Statistics. Genetic Resources & Variety Novelties (I).
Afternoon Sessions - Genetic Resources & Variety Novelties (II). Innovation in Plant Protection.
At the end of the day, next meeting venue (9th ITGS) candidatures will be presented.
Tuesday, 3 October, University of Foggia
Morning Sessions - Biology & Physiology of Production; Improved Cultural Techniques (I)
Afternoon Sessions - Improved Cultural Techniques (II). Updating in Post Harvest.
Friday, 6 October - University of Palermo
Morning Session - Improved Cultural Techniques (III).

Poster presentations will be displayed for two days (2 and 3 October) at the Aula Magna of the University of Foggia.

Technical tours to leader farms for table grape production, packaging, plastic cover manufacturing, postharvest techniques, commercialization, and special growing technique applications are offered.
Apulia - Wednesday, 4 October: 4 or 5 itinerary choices will be available.
Sicily – Saturday, 7 October: 2 itinerary choices will be available.

The Round table discussion will be held in Bari on Thursday 5 October. It will provid a platform to discuss, together with internationally renowned experts, problems of market, quality and commercial/logistic of table grapes.

Social events
Welcome party: Foggia, Sunday, 1 October
Social dinner: Bari, Wednesday 4 October
Farewell dinner: Palermo, Saturday 7 October.

8th ITGS Newsletter - Big Interest after the First Deadlines!

We are pleased to announce that about 90 scientific/technical communications have been submitted (oral and poster presentations) from 14 Countries. The preferred topics concern, first of all, the innovative cultural techniques, followed by genetic resources, post-harvest, plant biology, plant protection, economics and market. The International Scientific Committee will be busy now in the abstract evaluation and selection to define the scientific sessions.
Contacts for registration of attendees are already close to one hundred. By now, more than 90% of participants in regular payments have selected the full package option (Apulia and Sicily).

As concerns the technical activities, as previously announced, a round table discussion on market, fruit quality and commercial/logistic aspects of table grape industry has been scheduled on October 5th.
The tours to leader farms for table grape production, packaging, plastic cover manufacturing, postharvest and commercialization (Apulia, October 4th) and for special growing techniques (Sicily, October and 7th) have been defined. Soon the details will be communicated.

People that intend to attend the Symposium as an Author and/or a participant are kindly request to express their interest by filling the form on line before May 31st 2016.
 
Filling the form is without any obligation. This EoI is intended to have an initial idea about number of expected attendants in order to establish the provisional financial budget.

Specific deadlines for call for abstract and information about fees and accommodation will be given in the next circulars.
